Our Mission
-
To provide 2 facilities for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of our Coastal Bend non-migratory and migratory wild birds. One specifically for small birds including a nursery for abandoned eggs and orphaned hatchlings until they are able to survive on their own. The other to be specifically for raptors including various flight cages for their needs.
-
To bring together volunteers who possess a wide range of skills and experience that share compassion for avian welfare. To have those volunteers comprise 100% of the staffing needed to fill the many roles to successfully operate a wild bird rescue center. These include Rescue, Rehabilitation, Release and Education.
-
To expand public awareness of the need for and benefit of wild bird conservation through educational programs and hands-on experiences with the native and migratory birds found in the Coastal Bend. To perform programs/presentations both in our Education Center on site and at other local organization’s sites.
-
To create a team of Ambassador/Education birds that focuses on teaching our youth about the species, conservation of the species and environment while at the same time creating a love of birding at an early age.
-
To always perform the goals of our moto: Rescue, Rehab, Release & Education
