Aransas County is home to an amazing variety of birds – some native, some migratory, many threatened and endangered. Wings Rescue Center (WRC) began in 2016 to help injured birds and we are the only rehab facility to take in baby birds, even abandoned eggs. With the generous support of individual citizens like you, WRC is giving these birds a renewed chance to enjoy life. Now we are even a temporary shelter for weather-shocked sea turtles.
Our goal for 2019 is to provide in-house medical care and treat even more birds. We need your help to make our goals come true.
Our wish list:
An incubator to hatch abandoned eggs; X-ray and wound treatment equipment; medical supplies; and funds to buy fish and a freezer, to build a saltwater rehab pool for the large birds, to finish our raptor cage, to furnish our new hospital building, to meet daily operating expenses (electricity, water, etc.) as well as for training new volunteers.
